Nrl are recruiting for a Car Valeter on a temp to perm basis

Main purpose of the role
To Valet and prepare vehicles ready for customer collection / despatch.

Health & Safety Responsibility

Responsible and accountable for:
  • Taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions (i.e. Section 7 Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974).
  • Actively supporting Babcock Vehicle Engineering in pursuance of the delivery of their Legal undertakings in respect of Health Safety and Environmental Management.
  • Following Policies, Safety Instructions, Safe Operating Procedures and Procedures introduced to ensure Babcock Vehicle Engineering  remains compliant with current Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, Health and Safety Guidance and best practice.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfering or misusing anything provided for the purpose of Health & safety at Work.
  • Using the Safety Observation and Near Miss reporting channels to highlight safety concerns across the business.
Duties & responsibilities
  • Clean wheels, windows, mirrors, interior items, and vehicle exterior as desired by the customer.
  • Wax and polish vehicles as applicable, including T Cut and mopping.
  • Carry out steam cleaning service on vehicle body, engine, and wheel arches when required.
  • May be responsible for picking up and delivering vehicles to customers.
  • Check all parts of vehicles, especially repaired areas to discover if there are defects; report defects to the personnel responsible.
  • Prepare, clean, and safely store equipment.
  • Ensure vehicles are cleaned on time and ready for delivery by prioritizing work load.
  • Ensure high standards are maintained; complete accurate paperwork and perform checks on vehicles.

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather.

  • Ability to work effectively under own initiative, or as part of a team to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of engineering industrial standards.
Desirable
  • Ability to operates industrial level steam cleaners.
Qualifications
Specific Training, Qualifications and Experience needed to be able to evidence the Competences listed above.

Experience
Essential
  • Previous experience in a car Valeter role.
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a car dealership environment.
  • Experience of using paint mopping tools.
  • Experience of working in a high pressure time sensitive commercially driven environment.
  • Knowledge of  Quality & Environmental Standards and processes.
 Other roles and Responsibilities
  • Work in compliance with established Company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate uncompromising safety, integrity & commitment at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties/training as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.
  • Have or be willing to obtain the relevant level of security clearance and maintain the relevant level of clearance throughout your employment.  Security clearance is a mandatory requirement for your role, failure to maintain will result in disciplinary action and potential dismissal.
