NRL are recruiting for an experienced Contract Static Equipment Engineer on behalf of one of our clients, to join their engineering team. The role will be on a contract basis, located in Hersham.

 

Role Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the design and analysis of equipment including pressure vessels, storage tanks, reactors, heaters, heat exchangers, flares, vaporisers.
  • Reviewing customer technical requirements to prepare technical specification packages for enquiry/purchase and undertaking technical evaluations and risk assessment of supplier proposals, coordinating the necessary cross-functional input to support this.
  • Coordination of workload to meet schedule, quality and budget requirements together with timely reporting on status and progress.
  • Liaising with the other engineering functions and coordinating cross-functional reviews of supplier designs and documentation to facilitate the integration of purchased equipment into the overall plant design compliant with Air Products engineering standards.
  • Undertaking witness inspections and acceptance testing of purchased equipment.
  • Able to review and resolve customer or joint-venture partner comments.
  • Providing technical support throughout construction and commissioning phases of projects retaining overall technical responsibility for equipment until successful handover to the customer.
  • Expected to undertake international travel to equipment suppliers and the site locations at appropriate times throughout the project delivery.
 

Role Requirements:
  • Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience in the specification, evaluation and engineering of a range of static equipment types in an EPC project environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of international Pressure Vessel Codes and experience with the Pressure Equipment Directive and CE/UKCA marking.
  • Experience with equipment in ammonia and hydrogen service.
  • A willingness to apply their skills to more diverse packaged equipment as required.
  • Software skills including: Compress, HTRI, ANSYS.
  • A demonstrable understanding of cross-functional interfaces and overcoming associated challenges in an EPC environment for processing facilities.
  • Experience in leading or supervising other engineers.
  • Highly competent written and spoken communication and able to use a range of standard software such as MS Word and MS Excel to prepare technical documents and to write technical reports.
