NRL are currently recruiting for a Design Project Manager for work with an engineering consultancy to work on a contract basis in London Bridge supporting the East West Rail project.

The Design Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of the design elements of the programme through coordination with partners, suppliers and stakeholders

About the role:
  • Planning and effective co-ordination and resolution of issues for the tasks and projects under your control, where necessary initiating corrective actions
  • Co-ordination of the different elements of the design and project to time, cost and budget and within the agreed governance
  • Oversight and management of associated risks and issues arising from the design production
  • Identify and lead on effective change and realisation of the project benefits
  • Manage budget and deliverables and where required monitor and prepare reports
  • Monitor and manage the integrity and interfaces of the design, ensuring quality control, continuous improvement and where appropriate innovation are consistent with EWR Co values
  • Manage suppliers and their project teams, where appropriate, ensuring that any EWR obligations are delivered
  • Oversee the design process using technical expertise
  • Review designs for regulatory, health and safety, safety by design and best practice compliance
  • Reduce design errors at early stages through buildability review and sense check leading to reduced risk and cost during construction
  • Maintain appropriate documentation through the design process to ensure assurance activities can be met and scheme design are archived appropriately
  • Take responsibility of your own and others’ health and safety by adopting and working to the EWR Co Health and Safety principles.
  • Interface with PMO and Commercial team to support delivery of cost plans and estimates and design progress metrics
  • Co-operate with EWR Co in all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times.

  • Strong project management experience
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong design and coordination experience
  • Client-side / consultancy experience advantageous
