Working with a large engineering consultancy, NRL are looking for a Study Manager to work on an exciting nuclear project in Warrington. This could be either a contract (inside IR35), temp to perm or permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role:
The scope of the service will require the following:
  1. Defining Study Briefs, Scope, Business Needs & Programmes needs and the production of Delivery Strategies.
  2. Management of the Study Brief and work or similar such as Requirements Management
  3. Management and roll out of execution strategies and plans
  4. Communication, team leadership (Inc. wider team/support functions) and stakeholder management
  5. Management of multi-discipline teams & resources
  6. Production of study deliverables, outputs.
  7. Experience of technology development used to deliver fit for purpose solutions
  8. Managing arrangements for reporting, progress monitoring, control scope and costs against agreed baseline.
  9. Use of assessment tools such as BAT/ALARP, Skyline (risk analysis).
  10.  Management of research, investigation and examination of data, establishment of the facts and making recommendation as part of the study output
  11. NDA Value Frame Work, Optioneering (Green Book) and the generation and definition of selection criteria aligned to business needs that support assessment and evaluation of options.
  12. Application of tools, systems and processes to drive business improvement.
  13. Delivering output reports through governance.
  14. Project handover (Sanction to IPD Gate) providing support to the project in the development of the project business case, project functional specification, basis of estimate and schedule.

You will need:
  • Excellent project management / engineering skills
  • Previous nuclear experience (ideally on Sellafield work) is highly advantageous. Previous highly regulated industry work as minimum is essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Previous study experience would be beneficial
