Our client has a STAFF position for a Finance Assistant
Grangemouth

About the role:


The Finance Assistant is responsible for a wide range of duties including treasury, capex reporting and general ledger activities. This includes ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial ledger and supporting the Financial Control Team leader with ad hoc duties.

What you will need:
  • Period end activities, including, extracting & analysing accounting data to calculate, prepare and post mid- month and month end journals within set deadlines
  • Maintain Balance Sheet Reconciliations by preparing reconciliations, highlighting and investigating material variances prior to detailed review by the Finance Control Team Leader
  • Maintain accurate records in the financial system
  • Support the Capex function including project maintenance and reporting.
  • Support the Internal Controls & Audit processes and assist with year-end audit
  • Cover key roles to support the finance function (treasury, general ledger, expenses)
  • Preparation and posting of bank reconciliations.
  • Manage and process secure online payments made via the company's online banking system
  • Update daily and intra-day cash positions
  • Set up ad-hoc payments (i.e. urgent supplier payments, office expenses) via BACs and online banking system
  • Providing weekly cash forecasts to the London Treasury Team
  • Strong team player, with ability to work on own initiative and comfortable dealing with various different stakeholders within the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to specified deadlines whilst supporting team members
  • Interest in accountancy and the finance function and willingness to progress
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and delivery high quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks using own initiative
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Word and Excel skills (basic/intermediate)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute towards its success
