Main Duties / Responsibilities
- Prepare fire alarm designs, quotations, battery calculations and electronic drawings to enable the projects/sales department to price projects required by contractors, consultants and end users within scheme specific predetermined time frames.
- Reading and interpreting client specifications
- Ensuring designs/quotations are prepared in line with the clients requirements/specifications/BS5839-1
- Seeking further information from clients or other staff to enable preparation of quotations/designs as required
- Adhering to company processes in line with BAFE
- Providing administrative support to both the sales and projects teams including call handling and response to e mails providing support to customers and responding to their queries.
- Prioritise enquiries that are to be designed/quantified and quoted so that clients deadlines are met
- Communicate with sales staff re the details of the projects that are to be priced
- Contract review all supply and commission orders ensuring full compliance between customer order and company quotation
- Contact manufacturers to obtain project prices
- Visit sites to ascertain viability of fire alarm design proposals ( scheme specific)
- Work on several different projects/tasks simultaneously as they arise with varying degrees of urgency, prioritising as appropriate.
- Carry out site surveys on existing buildings to enable/prepare detailed fire alarm designs and quotations
- Produce framed Zonal diagrams from AutoCAD drawings
- Extensive knowledge and experience within the fire detection industry
- Extensive knowledge of the relevant British Standards and codes of practice that are to be adhered to within the industry
