NRL’s client has a requirement for a Lifting Authority to be based in Middlesbrough on an Ongoing contract basis

About the Role:

To act as the focal point for all lifting activities carried out, development and review of Lift plans as may be required for Construction/shop activities across the site. The Lifting Authority will be responsible for maintaining lifting equipment and provide technical support and advice to discipline supervisors and personnel involved in Lifting Activities.

Role Responsibilities 
  • Ensuring lifting operations are being undertaken within a safe system of work e.g. properly planned, risk assessed, appropriately supervised and carried out in a safe manner by competent personnel.
  • Develop all required lift plans required by group for operations on site
  • Where applicable review and endorse Lift Plans generated for group company activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for personnel carrying out lifting activities.
  • Custodian for the management of change process for lift plans, ensuring all changes to lift plans are documented and where applicable endorsed by the appropriate Appointed Person.
  • Ensure all lifting equipment is inspected regularly in line with company procedure and LOLER.
  • Support audit programme in ensuring all lifting activities are in line with statutory requirements and company procedures.
  • Support the direction of lifting activities carried out by Construction teams.

What you will need?
  • Must have a valid CPCS Appointed Person A61
  • Must Have an NVQ Level 3 
  • Sound knowledge of LOLER and management of Lifting Activities
  • Experience in developing and reviewing complex lifting plans
