NRL’s top engineering & manufacturing client based in Grangemouth is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Planner/Supervisor to join their team on a permanent staff basis.

**Purpose of Role:**

  • The role of the Maintenance Planner/Supervisor is to plan, initiate, execute, control and close out all planned and emergent engineering works for the asset. Maintain accurate data within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system and report accurate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) demonstrating compliance with statutory requirements and company objectives. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all site safety expectations, company procedures and applicable international standards. In addition, direct, coach, line manage and provide technical support to technicians within their team to ensure engineering excellence in performance.

**Key Accountabilities:**

**Safety Compliance**

o Lead by example and promote positive safety culture

o Ensure all maintenance activities complies with applicable laws, Regulations, Company policies and procedures, permits and risk assessments

o Conversant with applicable engineering and safety standards e.g. GMP 07 Control of Work

**Maintenance Technician Line Management**

o Provide first line management of maintenance team including performance management and appraisals

o Ensuring competence levels maintained and developed through coaching, on-site experience and formal training

**Safe and Effective Execution of Engineering Works**

o Execute all statutory requirements in timely manner to maintain endorsement. Where possible, complete works 3 months ahead of due date

o Own, drive and ensure adequate supervision of all engineering works on site

o Prioritise work requests received via CMMS and from key department stakeholders e.g. operations, asset care engineering, HSE, Inspection and 3rd party contractors

o Effectively use CMMS for work requests, stores requisitions, equipment history, spares holding and failure reporting

o Carry out preparedness assessment of all future work scopes as required taking appropriate action to close out issues as identified

o Ensure full utilization of technicians and contractor resource and actively engage with the Maintenance Planning process

o Challenge and progress/reject SR/WO¿s ensuring accuracy and fullness of data

o Actively participate in the technical appraisal of new and emergent Work Orders & Service Requests to diagnose remediation scope in conjunction with Operations representative

o Produce comprehensive and detailed work packs for all applicable works and communicate to all involved

o Own and drive compliance for all TBM scope whether executed by the asset techs or otherwise.

o Responsible for swift and appropriate remediation of all Rime 1 and 2 work scopes within the expected timeframe

o Ensure suitable level of QA is completed and recorded before recommissioning of equipment, including punching

o Carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment all Maintenance activities (which may include TBRA) as well as build permits to first stage lock for all PI Engineering activities as well as for any non-term contractors

o Assess routine material, spares and service requirements and to raise purchase requisitions, directly consulting catalogues, manufacturers, suppliers and company purchasing staff as necessary

o Lead on set-pieces of work including, outages, slow-downs, Regens, Major Overhauls, etc. Create ad-hoc, set piece plans for any large scale, large cost or unit limiting work fronts

o Maintain accurate engineering records on CMMS system using a detailed working knowledge of Maximo and Alfresco

o Create and/or update Maintenance documentation where missing or inaccurate. A non-exhaustive list of examples of documentation may include but not limited to Overhaul Procedures, PM Procedures, Method Statements and Job Step Plans

o Liaise with external suppliers, OEM¿s and third parties to identify spare parts, drawings, specialist tooling to improve maintenance activity execution

**Budget control**

o Raise Delay and Defects within 24-48hr window, as necessary

o Review and challenge 3rd party costs

**3rd Party Contractors**

o Ensure all third party permit builders work to the correct standard.

o Assess, challenge and verify all contractor RAMS

o Obtain third party (term and otherwise) estimates and ensure 'value for money¿ and estimates costed as per the framework agreement

**MTL support and Personal Requirements**

o Take responsibility for own personal development including actively driving self-competence and training

o Engage fully in the annual appraisal process including the delivery of personal objectives.

o Complete regular audits as per Offsites Auditing programme.

o Report and review Maintenance KPI’s to understand and monitor the health of the Maintenance process

**Special Features of the role:**

- Flexibility required including changing working patterns at short-notice to accommodate unplanned outages
- Periods of shift work required to accommodate TAR outages
- Periods of secondment within other site teams. (TAR, Reliability or Maintenance improvement.)
- Support of the development of an integrated schedule for larger events (Regens, overhauls, outages)
- Technical input to supplier audits, incident investigations

**Key Skills/Experience:**

**Required**

- Formal Apprenticeship (Mechanical/IE/Analyser as relevant to the Craft Team)
- SVQ Level 3 in relevant subject (Mechanical Engineering/IE Engineering or equivalent)
- HNC in appropriate Engineering subject (Mechanical Engineering/IE Engineering or equivalent)
- Time served in a Maintenance background
- Excellent communication skills and organisational skills
- Proven self-starter with a bias for action
- Ability to work under pressure and lead team
- Strong decision making skills
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings
- IT literate and proficient in computer systems

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of working on a top tier COMAH site
- A detailed understanding of the maintenance workflow process and CMMS
- Knowledge of National and International standards in their maintenance discipline
- Understanding of the budgeting process and cost control
- Current driving license
