NRL currently require a Material Management Engineer on a contract basis for a major project on a local Nuclear site.


About the role:

  • The scope of this role is to work with key stakeholders within the Land Programme, Remediation and Environmental/Planning teams to develop key strategies and processes that will provide effective management of spoil arisings from construction related activities.
  • Sort, segregation and classification of material.
  • Find temporary storage solutions on site.
  • Re-use of material for site construction activities
  • Establishing arrangements to use material from Nuclear site at other facilities. 
  • Developing processes to transfer material to third party clients.
  • Looking at innovation in concrete production and the re-use and import of concrete waste.

What experience you will need: 

  • Establish processes and system for the segregation and classification of material on site subject to approval by the appropriate Nuclear site governance and control measures for material management.
  • Identify areas for temporary storage/ silos to be used for either re-use/ export.
  • Working on Nuclear sites and with Key stakeholders to develop the systems and processes that will allow the export and import of materials from/to Nuclear sites across the clients' estates. 
  • Develop the processes/ systems that will allow this Nuclear site to export material to third parties.
  • Review the potential for the re-use of concrete either generated on site or other sites or external third parties.
