NRL are working with a leading energy generation company based in Teesside, they are now seeking an experienced Outage/Turnaround Manager to join their business.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Responsible Mechanical Engineer, the Outage Manager will be accountable for the preparation, planning, resourcing, contracting, financial performance and safe execution of all Ouatges, defined by the Annual Outage Schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the development and execution of all Outages, driven by the established Gated Process and is ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of all outage events by managing the organisational requirements.
• Shall be responsible for the outage contracting strategy, deliverables and reporting. Develops quality tender packages, awards contracts, and evaluates contractor performance.
• Shall ensure that all mandatory inspections and tests are completed to maintain license to operate.
• Ensures organisational capability within the outage team by means of adequate resources identified, developed, budgeted and obtained both internally and externally via an approved contracting strategy to execute the outage in the optimum timeframe.
• Will be responsible for ensuring all outage activities that are undertaken by employees and contractors are carried out with full compliance to statutory regulations, safe systems of work and management procedures.
• Shall generate key management KPI’s and use these to drive efficient outage strategies and report performance to the Senior Leadership Team.
• Serves as the Scope of Work gate keeper in collaboration with the Plant Manager and Responsible Engineer to control the outage scope.
• Delivers Pre-Outage (Project Execution Plan) and Post-Outage documents, lessons learned and goals for the purpose of improvement (all departments) and establishes basis for the next turnaround.
• Integrates into the outages all capital and revenue expense projects into the long term business budgeting and planning models.
• Represents department and/or company as an expert in project related meetings and conferences or to regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate experience in developing, leading and delivering large scale outages on time and to budget, within a similar industry and environment.
• Decisive leadership skills. Able to influence and motivate large multi-discipline teams.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including but not limited to; the ability to present ideas, proposals and results to senior and executive management, operations, regulators and contractors.
• Ability to organise and prioritise daily work for a large team, including tracking and supporting large and small size projects, and see projects to completion while maintaining confidentiality.
• Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Software and Microsoft Project Planning Tools.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline (Preferred).
• At least 5 Years’ experience in outages or capital project management.
