NRL are currently recruiting for a package manager to join an established construction team. The primary focus of this role will to be the mechanical lead for managing the technical correctness of works progression. This will include the supply of and co-ordination of all technical information including information for health and safety files.

Key Job Roles:
  • Manage incoming services applications and works
  • Assist MEP Planning Manager in development of construction programme, short term look ahead planning
  • Review Design
  • Value Engineering
  • Assist in the procurement process, technical assessments and order placement
  • Reports, equipment and materials schedules for procurement
  • Assist in project validation
  • Method statement and risk assessment preparation and review with sub-contractors
  • Review design and construction drawings and sign off
  • Assist in Bench-marking installation practises and quality procedures
Construction/Programme/Installation:
  • Review installation regularly to ensure in line with design intent
  • Off-site inspections and testing
  • Assist Site MEP staff with setting up T&Q plans
  • Assist Project team in expediting the major equipment deliveries
  • Attend / chair internal meetings with sub-contractors on site as progress necessary.
  • Ensure that all variations are picked up in connection with PM & QS
  • Set out handover and commissioning procedures for MEP Site managers to implement
 

To be a success in this role you will need to be an effective communicator with a positive, passionate, and engaging approach when supporting and educating the business. You will have an excellent ability to use management systems, and have good planning skills. You will hold as minimum a HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and have an excellent ability to challenge engineering solutions proposed by the design team.
