NRL are currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Plant engineer to work for a global engineering client of ours on new and exciting projects

As a Principal Electrical Plant engineer you will help strengthen their substation design team and grow their capability for the transmission and distribution systems of the future.  You’ll have the opportunity to provide support to the full value chain offering for transmission operators, distribution network operators, wind, solar, energy storage and ancillary services developers.

Roles and Responsibilities

As part of their diverse team, you’ll be leading a range of services from feasibility design through to the preparation of technical specifications, production of detailed construction drawings and design compliance checks throughout the design process on all elements of EHV and HV primary plant, including substations, energy storage systems and inertia plant. Crucially, you will combine your technical expertise with client facing communication skills to build relationships and establish yourself a reputation as a trusted partner.

Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree / master’s in electrical engineering or HNC/ HND qualifications
  • Proven technical ability in the design and application of EHV power system plant up to and including 400kV, including LV electrical systems and earthing design.
  • Expert in technical Substation plant design and deep understanding of the associated disciplines
  • Passion for delivering innovative solutions
