NRL are recruiting for a Project Manager with civils experience to work in West Yorkshire for the duration of 12 months

About the role:
As Project Manager for this contract, you will be required to manage the commercial, engineering, consent and land agreement requirements (with support from the relevant teams) to progress an accelerated cable ducting civils contract. The role will take this package of work from the refinement stage, including contract negotiation, engineering design and discharge of consent and land requirements, through to completion of the accelerated ground works. The role sits within the Onshore Package of a large Offshore Wind Farm, with a HVDC export cable route. A portion of the cable ducting installation is required to be accelerated, and the Project Manager will manage this as a separate piece of work within the overall project. This will require close engagement with the wider project team, and the non-accelerated portion of the works package. The successful candidate will be maintaining close management of the Programme and Budget for the works package. They will require good understanding of Commercial aspects of a project, as well as have experience of working on onshore civils contracts. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills, to support engagement within the project team and to external stakeholders. You will plan and deliver the works safely, on time and on budget. You shall be required to engage collaboratively to obtain the optimum level of service from supporting functions in a matrix type organisation that provides specialist services to multiple projects.

What you will need:

  • Experience in complex, multi-disciplinary projects, preferably projects in the energy sector with experience of onshore civils contracts
  • The ability to lead and motivate a team of multi-disciplined individuals and to lead consultants and contractors
  • Experience in dealing with authorities, pressure groups and statutory stakeholders - Be a natural team player capable of building relationships and trust with peers and external parties
  • Excellent reporting skills and written communication
  • Ability to communicate key messages clearly and concisely to various types of audience
