To deliver a high-quality training delivery service in line with Programme Manager and Company Standards requirements supporting the MSTU;
The Safety Diver is responsible to the nominated Course & Diving Supervisor for the safe observation of student egress from Underwater Escape Training Modules (UETM’s), assisting students in difficulty and operating/refitting UETM windows & doors where required.
Ensure that they work in an effective collaborative manner with MoD staff, displaying the appropriate behaviours at all times.
Main Tasks:
- Support the delivery of UETU training by providing in-water safety diver cover.
- In water confidence, including operating within the confines of the UETM’s.
- It is essential to be a good communicator with the ability to convey relevant (sometimes safety critical) information clearly, confidently and unambiguously, responding accurately and promptly to trainees to meet the requirements of the training activity.
- Able to deliver a classroom presentation, showing potential to progress into an instructional role.
- Sound knowledge of IT.
- Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times for all employees and trainees under your direction
- To positively maintain and comply with the company’s Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) polices & procedures.
- Supporting the Programme & Site SHE Representative iaw SHE Management plan
- To perform the role of Instructor to maintain personal SQEP & competence, and to be ready to fill in if required for absent team members
- To ensure that the assigned training area is ready for acceptance “as ready” for training and complies with the company’s SHE policy.
- To ensure that all site specific documentation is managed, maintained iaw the company‘s QA policies and procedures.
- To undertake other peripheral support duties reasonably requested of you within your capacity, including the duties of the Training Support Staff
- To implement the Sea, Health and Safety Plan/Policies for all areas under their remit
- Reporting all incidents using the appropriate reporting system and or Site SHE Representative
- To work with other departments/business units/nominated representatives to ensure a consistent approach is adopted to safety policy, processes, procedures and initiatives
- Carries out any other appropriate task that may be required from time to time
- Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and also students in their care
- Diving qualification to the standard of CMAS 2* or 3*
- In date for annual HSE diving medical
- DTTT / DIT / COT qualifications and/or equivalent SC/DBS Check
- Full Driving Licence
- 1st Aid Qualified
