NRL's engineering client is looking to recruit a Senior C&I Engineer on a 6 month contract basis, based at their site in Grangemouth. This is offered on a PAYE contract only. 

About the role:

  • Must be a self-motivated team player and self-sufficient together with ability to work with minimal supervision and capable of identifying and developing project wide design deliverables with familiarity of the interpretation of appropriate national & international industry standards.
  • Must have engineering experience with working on site within a client team on multi project portfolio execution.
  • Must be experienced with IEC 61511 Safety Lifecycle and Emergency Shutdown System architecture and design and SIL determination.
  • Must be experienced with attendance and contributing to HAZOP, LOPA and SIL Determination as well as FSAs
  • Must be experienced with developing/checking SIL verification calculations and Safety Requirements Specifications
  • Must be capable of specifying PLC / DCS / ESD / SIS hardware and software system modifications including working with control system vendors and Client applications and systems engineers.
  • Must be capable of development of C&I project deliverables and monitoring of third-party contractor and control systems vendor progress
  • Must be capable of interfacing with Client Engineers and Vendor personnel to facilitate project execution
  • Must be experienced with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), particularly associated with Honeywell DCS Systems
  • Must have detailed C&I design experience for Hazardous areas including – Enclosure specification, cable containment/segregation and instrument and equipment specification including field measurement instrumentation and control valves.
  • Must have experience in the specification of flow, pressure, level and temperature instrumentation, high performance control and ESD valves with instrument vendors.
  • Desired Experience- As above plus
  • Experience with Honeywell TDC, C300, FSC, Experion DCS and Safety Manager.
  • Experience with PLCs such as Siemens, Allan Bradley and Mitsubishi
  • Experience with Triconex Systems
  • Experience with SIL determination software such as exSILentia, TRAC, ISOGRAPH
  • Knowledge of machinery protection systems such as Bently Nevada

What you will need?

  • Min. Qualifications - HNC/HND in Instrument Engineering or related subject, TUV FS Eng SIS.
  • Preferred Qualification – Chartered Engineer, BSc/MSc in Control Engineering or related subject, MInstMC or MIET.
