Sellafield
Sellafield is a nuclear facility in Cumbria, England. It covers an area of more than 1,000 hectares and includes an operational nuclear power station and a fuel reprocessing plant where radioactive waste is recycled into new fuel for use in the nuclear industry. Sellafield is presently working on decommissioning four Magnox nuclear power stations located on the site, while safeguarding and managing used fuel from more than 100 reactors during the past 50 years.
Sellafield is in West Cumbria, one of the most beautiful areas of the country to explore. It is surrounded by the Lake District national park, which is an amazing area to visit and attracts many tourists.
