Fife is a region in the east of Scotland. It has a population of approximately 250,000 and is located on the north coast of the Firth of Forth between Dundee, Perth, and Edinburgh.
The engineering sector in Fife is large, with around 500 companies employing 37,000 people. It involves a highly skilled and versatile workforce due to the many diverse industries that employ engineers. Engineers can be involved with major industrial projects such as building bridges and roads.
Fife is in the central corridor of Scotland, between Edinburgh and Dundee. The main road north/south is the M90. There is also a railway station which connects Fife to mainland Scotland, with routes running from all over the county to Edinburgh Waverley, Glasgow Queen Street, and Dundee stations.
