Grangemouth is a port town in central Scotland. It has a population of around 32,000 and lies east of the Forth Bridges on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth. Grangemouth was historically known for its distilling industry until that declined in the late 20th century, to be replaced by chemical production, most notably oil refining and pharmaceuticals.

Grangemouth is home to two major chemical plants and several oil refineries. These industrial sites are some of the most important contributors to Scottish GDP and employment, as well as exporting products to Europe and beyond.

Grangemouth is well connected to the rest of Scotland, with many bus routes serving the area. If you are travelling by car, the town is only 20 km from the motorway network, and there are plenty of train services from nearby Edinburgh.
