Job Title Bid Manager
Summary We’re looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join a leading engineering organisation in Chorley. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver successful tender strategies, working with a collaborative team over a 4-day working week. Ideal if you excel in managing complex bids and enjoy motivating others to achieve outstanding results.
Salary £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Location and Working Pattern Chorley (Hybrid working available) 4-day working week
Client Overview Our client is a well-established organisation within the engineering sector, committed to innovation, safety, and quality. They provide tailored solutions to their clients and have a strong reputation for successful project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end tender process from opportunity identification through to final submission.
  • Develop accurate forecasts of potential tender opportunities in collaboration with Business Development teams.
  • Coordinate and manage internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure technical and commercial compliance.
  • Prepare and review high-quality bid proposals, executive summaries, and response documents.
  • Present bid proposals internally and externally, highlighting compliance, win themes, and value proposition.
  • Maintain and enhance bid processes, tools, and an information library to support future bids.
  • Oversee bid budgets, track financial performance, and align proposals with business objectives.
  • Mentor and manage a dedicated bid team, driving best practice and continuous improvement.
Must-have Requirements
  • 3–5 years’ experience in bid, proposals, or tender management roles.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver multi-disciplinary, high-value tenders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to obtain SC Security Clearance.
Nice-to-have Skills
  • APMP Certification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
  • Background in engineering or technical sectors.
