Summary

We are looking for an experienced Construction Delivery Lead to join a major infrastructure project in Bristol. This role is ideal for professionals with strong leadership skills in construction delivery and health, safety, and environmental management. You’ll play a key part in overseeing large-scale works, managing teams, and ensuring effective planning on site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Construction Delivery Managers across allocated areas.
  • Oversee all aspects of health, safety and environment during construction activities in line with the HPC Construction Phase Plan.
  • Carry out and record safety and assurance inspections using the INSIGHT tool to support project KPIs.
  • When nominated, act as Construction Delivery Manager for specific work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with the HPC Drumbeat schedule for daily and weekly meetings.
  • Organise and conduct weekly Plan of the Week (PLOW) meetings with contractor partners to align short-term plans with overall schedules.
  • Support CDMs and contractor partners in Plan of the Day (PLOD) meetings.
  • Lead weekly construction meetings, updating issue and action trackers, and escalating concerns as needed.
  • Oversee contractors’ management of logistics and construction-related contracts.
Must-have Requirements

  • Relevant degree (or equivalent) in Civil Construction.
  • NEBOSH, SMSTS or IOSH qualification.
  • Proven experience in planning site set-up, sequencing, resource allocation and recovery planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial principles affecting construction.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise reports.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a motivational approach.
  • Extensive experience delivering large complex projects.
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work under pressure.
Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience in nuclear or large-scale energy projects (if applicable as inferred from HPC context).
  • Advanced planning and scheduling software skills.
