We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced CS&A Designer (Civil 3D) to join their Civil, Structural & Architectural team, working on major decommissioning projects at Sellafield. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled designer with expert-level Autodesk Civil 3D proficiency who enjoys developing complex, data-rich BIM models and supporting large-scale infrastructure works.

Location and Working Pattern
Based in Warrington or Workington, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Full-time, 40 hours a week, core hours 9:00 am–4:30 pm.

Client Overview
Our client undertakes critical projects supporting the decommissioning of legacy facilities at Sellafield. This role focuses on enabling works, including service diversions, drainage schemes, earthworks, and foundation development for key infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain detailed Civil 3D models, including 3D surfaces, alignments, and profiles.
  • Develop roadway and corridor models with assemblies and custom subassemblies where required.
  • Manage BIM workflows using Data Shortcuts to maintain accurate shared information.
  • Configure automated sheet production systems to deliver large drawing sets efficiently.
  • Perform earthwork volume calculations, clash detection, and pipe network analysis.
  • Prepare and check GA and detail drawings using Revit and Autodesk Design Review.
  • Participate in model reviews and present design progress to project teams.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
Must-have Requirements
  • Degree (MEng) or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D (minimum 5+ years).
  • Working proficiency in Revit, Autodesk Design Review, and Vehicle Tracking.
  • Solid experience with feature lines, grading, and complex site development modelling.
  • Familiarity with British/European Standards and Building Regulations.
  • Proven experience detailing drainage, services, groundworks, steelwork, and reinforced concrete.
  • Ability to quality-check models and drawings before issue.
  • Ability to gain SC level of Security Clearance
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Experience within the nuclear or heavy industrial/civils sector.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and designer duties.
  • Willingness to support and mentor less-experienced team members.
