EC&I Inspector – Renfrew

We’re recruiting on behalf of a major engineering company with decades of experience delivering large-scale projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced EC&I Inspector to join their team in Renfrew, ensuring compliance, quality and technical excellence in electrical, control and instrumentation inspections.

Salary

£40.00–£50.00 per hour

Location and Working Pattern

Based in Renfrew, 4 days per week.

Client Overview

Our client is a long-established engineering business operating within highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy, and industrial manufacturing. With a reputation for engineering innovation, combined with decades of safe, high-quality project delivery, they continue to lead in electrical & mechanical engineering across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Identify and interpret client inspection and testing requirements
• Complete both on-site and off-site inspections to confirm compliance and quality
• Review and interpret technical drawings and design documentation
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals and inspection reports in line with project deliverables
• Work in accordance with British (BS), European (EN), site-specific and other regulatory standards
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal project management teams
• Conduct, witness, and document inspection and testing activities
• Record, interpret and report on test data with accuracy
• Participate in site meetings, reviews and reporting processes
• Review and approve supplier inspection packs for completeness and quality

 

Must-have Requirements

• Strong background in an EC&I or electrical discipline
• Qualified to City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391-52) or City & Guilds 2391-10 Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in inspection and testing within engineering or industrial environments
• Awareness of multi-discipline engineering practices and coordination requirements
• Competence in computer-based planning and reporting systems
• Understanding of regulatory standards and inspection procedures

 

Nice-to-have Skills

• Experience within regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy or infrastructure
• Familiarity with project documentation control systems
• Effective organisational and communication skills
