About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Works Controller to support the delivery of major projects at the Sellafield site. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical professional with experience in highly regulated environments to play a key role in the safe coordination and execution of electrical and construction activities.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will be responsible for coordinating site activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, project requirements, and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee electrical and associated construction activities across site.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with approved work instructions, procedures, and permit requirements.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of works.
• Support the planning, sequencing, and coordination of construction activities.
• Monitor work progress and identify potential issues, risks, or constraints affecting delivery.
• Verify that appropriate permits, authorisations, and control measures are in place before work commences.
• Promote and champion a strong nuclear and conventional safety culture.
• Challenge unsafe behaviours and ensure compliance with site standards.
• Maintain accurate records and support quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and completion activities as required.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of project milestones within schedule and budget requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Minimum of 5 years' experience working within Sellafield or a comparable highly regulated environment.
• Background in electrical engineering, electrical construction, or related engineering disciplines.
• Proven experience coordinating and supervising complex work activities on live industrial sites.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, CDM requirements, and safe systems of work.
• Knowledge of working within nuclear, defence, energy, petrochemical, or other high-hazard industries.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, work packs, and construction plans.

Desirable

• Previous experience in a Works Controller, Construction Coordinator, Electrical Supervisor, or similar role.
• Experience supporting electrical installation, maintenance, modification, or decommissioning projects.
• Familiarity with Sellafield site processes and procedures.

Site Access & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must be capable of meeting the relevant site access and competency requirements, including:

• Security Clearance.
• P4 and/or P1 authorisation.
• Sellafield site and plant access.
• Unescorted plant access.
• Monitored/Classified Worker status where required.
• Relevant knowledge of Sellafield systems, procedures, and working practices.
• Ability to work within radiological and conventional safety control arrangements.
• Compliance with all project-specific SQEP requirements.
