On behalf of our client, NRL Recruitment are currently looking for a General Operative for work in the Carrington area.
Location: Carrington M31
Duration: 6 months contract
Hours : 37.5 hrs p/w. There is likely to be some overtime.
You will need a valid UK Driving Licence as the role will involve travelling within the North West to other sites.
You will also need to have an FLT Licence and have an IPAF certification
POSITION SUMMARY The General Operative (GO) provides maintenance services to the production facility and associated sites. These services are primarily focused on practical work at the various production plants, including; general preventive maintenance, housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities will include: NATURE AND SCOPEThe nature of this role is largely but not limited to:
- The primary role is to support the assigned production facility to ensure all general duty activities are completed. There is an expectation to respond to requests to visit the various locations during both normal and outside of normal working hours. For this type of work the technician must be completely flexible and readily available.
- At all times ensure that the required safety standards are adhered to.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESThis position is accountable for the following end results:
- Ensure that all production facilities are maintained to a safe and serviceable condition, so that they can consistently attain their performance targets
- Ensure compliance to site statutory, mechanical integrity & preventative maintenance programmes
- Carry out routine house-keeping and preventative maintenance activities as defined by the GO work duties schedule in a timely manner.
- Support corrective maintenance work associated with plant and equipment failures (breakdowns)
- Work with the Mechanical Maintenance team to ensure correct spares parts and consumables inventory management
- Oversee LOLER/PULER inspections onsite
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSEducation Requirements:
- G.C.S.E Math, English and Science min grade C or Equivalent experience in a similar position
Professional License Requirements:- Valid driver’s license
- forklift truck/telehandler license
- IPAF
Skills and Experience:- Good interpersonal & team working skills (Customers, Regulators bodies, OSC operators).
- Able to work remotely and able to travel frequently
- Self-motivated independent worker
- Able to work at pace under pressure
- Experience working on industrial sites
- Industrial/Plant maintenance experience
