Handyperson – Full-Time (Dorset) Location: West Overhead, Poole, BH15 2BP

We are seeking an experienced and proactive
Handyperson to support the maintenance and upkeep of a key operational site in Dorset. This role involves a mix of reactive repairs, planned maintenance tasks, and general site support to ensure a safe, functional, and well‑maintained environment.

- All vetting arranged and paid for by us (must be completed before start)
Key Responsibilities- Carry out minor fabric repairs and reactive maintenance tasks
- Complete low‑level PPM duties and proactive maintenance
- Conduct monthly Legionella checks
- Perform low‑level plumbing tasks
- Maintain plant room housekeeping and general site tidiness
- Support grounds maintenance including litter picking, waste bin management, and gritting walkways
- Attend and resolve spillages promptly to maintain safe access
- Remove graffiti using appropriate methods
- Complete daily building walk‑rounds to identify issues
- Report faults promptly and resolve minor H&S issues where competent
- Assist cleaning teams when required
- Coordinate and support subcontractor visits
- Maintain accurate documentation and administrative records
- Work collaboratively with technicians and supervisors to complete tasks
- Uphold security requirements for Police Authority buildings
Required Skills & Experience- Practical skills in joinery, plumbing, general building, and fabric maintenance
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team
- Willingness to travel and work shifts when required
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Commitment to safe working practices, COSHH, and risk assessments
