Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Engineer / Advisor L

We are recruiting on behalf of an esteemed engineering and technical services client for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Engineer / Advisor to support a high‑profile nuclear power project based in Suffolk.

This is a key role within a nuclear engineering and project delivery environment, providing visible leadership on health, safety, and environmental matters, promoting best practice across site teams, and ensuring full compliance with UK legislation, including CDM Regulations.

The Role
  • Act as the HSE focal point for site-based project delivery teams
  • Promote a proactive HSE culture focused on continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with statutory HSE legislation and CDM Regulations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific HSE procedures
  • Support contractor management, including method statements and risk assessments
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and HSE walks, reporting findings and trends
  • Prepare monthly HSE performance reports and support incident investigations
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies as required
  • Support sustainability and environmental hazard management initiatives
About You
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant technical or engineering discipline
  • NEBOSH General Certificate minimum
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • IOSH membership (or working towards)
  • Proven HSE experience within engineering, construction, or energy environments
  • Confident communicator able to influence safety culture at all levels
