  • Job Purpose
    The IMS & Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organisation’s Integrated Management System (IMS) in line with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
    The role ensures the organisation meets all regulatory, certification, and internal governance requirements, and drives a culture of continuous improvement, quality, safety, and sustainability.

    1. Key Responsibilities
    IMS Management
    • Develop, maintain, and continually improve the organisation’s Integrated Management System.
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with certification standards (ISO 9001, 14001 or sector‑specific standards).
    • Lead internal audits and coordinate external certification/recertification audits.
    • Maintain IMS documentation, policies, procedures, and process controls.
    • Provide training and guidance to employees on IMS requirements and changes.
    Compliance & Governance
    • Monitor compliance with statutory, regulatory, and industry‑specific requirements.
    • Maintain a compliance register and ensure corrective actions are tracked and closed.
    • Manage risk assessments and support departments in implementing controls.
    • Conduct compliance audits across operational functions.
    • Report compliance status, risks, and trends to senior leadership.
    Quality & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead quality improvement projects using root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and process optimisation.
    • Analyse performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Support departments in creating and reviewing SOPs and process documents.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
    Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Support (if included in IMS)
    • Work with HSE teams to align safety and environmental processes with the IMS.
    • Monitor HSE performance metrics and action plans.
    • Ensure incident reporting, investigation, and corrective‑action processes are followed.
    Training & Communication
    • Deliver training on IMS and compliance requirements.
    • Ensure employees understand responsibilities linked to policies and procedures.
    • Develop communication materials relating to compliance and quality updates.
    • Key Skills & Competencies
    Technical Skills
    • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (or other relevant standards).
    • Experience managing or auditing integrated management systems.
    • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks in relevant industry.
    • Strong audit skills (internal auditor or lead auditor qualification desirable).
    Behavioural Competencies
    • Strong communication and influencing skills.
    • High attention to detail and analytical ability.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Problem‑solving and continuous improvement mindset.
    • Able to work collaboratively across departments.
    1. Qualifications & Experience
    Essential
    • Experience managing or maintaining an IMS or quality management system.
    • Knowledge of ISO standards relevant to the organisation.
    • Strong auditing skills and experience.
    • Experience in compliance, risk management, or governance roles.
    Desirable
    • Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001/14001/45001).
    • NEBOSH qualification (if HSE responsibilities included).
    • Experience in construction industry
    • Experience with digital QMS/IMS software.
