On behalf of our client, Nrl Recruitment are looking for an entry level Lab Assistant for work at Westlakes.
Duration: Start ASAP until 09.08.2026
Location: Westlakes (Greeson Court) CA24 3JZ
Rate: Inside IR35. £19.46-£20.64 p/h Umbrella / £14.47-£15.54 PAYE
Hours: Monday-Friday, 37hr Week (Full time on site)
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the delivery of assigned programmes of work to support the overall delivery of analytical
results to time and quality
2. Comply with the laboratory quality management systems to support accreditation
3. Comply with processes and procedures to enable safe working practices
4. Assist the analytical team to provide a consistent and efficient level of service
5. Assist in the waste management of samples and other consumables
6. Carry out routine Laboratory cleaning and maintenance tasks.
7. Take responsibility for personal continued development
8. Comply with legislation and company policies and procedures to ensure appropriate standards are
met
9. Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of efficient operational practices to minimise
wastage (financial and material)
Experience/Qualifications/Skills
Essential:
• Science GCSEs at grade A to C or equivalent
• Experience in analytical chemistry (preferred but not essential)
• Good organisational skills, high attention to detail
• Awareness of conventional and radiological safety
• IT literate
• Ability to work as part of a team
