Job Title - Maintenance Fitter
Summary
We’re recruiting a Maintenance Fitter for a client based in Glasgow, offering a fantastic opportunity for skilled professionals with hands-on mechanical experience. This role is ideal for individuals with an engineering background who thrive on solving problems and ensuring high equipment reliability.
Salary
Ranging from £40,195 - £46,940
Location and Working Pattern
On-site role with a rota including one weekend in five. On-call or out-of-hours flexibility is required.
Responsibilities- Carry out maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of mechanical equipment to a high standard.
- Perform routine inspections and identify potential issues to avoid equipment failures.
- Assist with the assembly and installation of new equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment specifications.
- Work collaboratively within a team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Follow company safety policies, including hazard identification and risk assessments.
Must-have Requirements- HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical craft engineering and 4–5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience.
- Previous experience as a maintenance fitter or technician in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools; experience with hydraulic systems and high-speed rotating equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective teamwork abilities.
- Flexible approach to on-call and out-of-hours work.
Nice-to-have Skills- Strong welding and fabrication experience (highly preferred).
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance strategies.
- Additional technical certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields.
