NRL’s client is seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters for a permanent role based in Glasgow. This role will suit individuals with strong mechanical expertise, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Joining this established organisation offers the opportunity to work on varied equipment and play a vital part in maintaining operational efficiency.

Salary: Up to £42,440 following successful completion of probation.

Location and Working Pattern
Glasgow – on-site. Candidates should be flexible, including the ability to work on-call or out-of-hours, with a current rota requiring one weekend in five.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance and repair work on a broad range of mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify issues to prevent breakdowns.
  • Assist with assembly and installation of new machinery.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment details.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve department objectives.
  • Comply with company safety policies, including hazard identification and risk assessments.
Must-have Requirements
  • Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical craft engineering.
  • HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4–5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance fitter or technician role following apprenticeship completion.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to use mechanical tools and equipment with confidence, including working on hydraulic systems and high-speed rotating machinery.
  • Skilled at interpreting mechanical drawings and technical documents.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance systems and processes.
  • Strong communication and team-working skills.
  • Flexibility to work on-call and outside of normal hours when required.
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Additional technical certifications relevant to mechanical engineering.
