Job Title Pre-Award Commercial Manager
Summary We’re looking for a Pre-Award Commercial Manager to join the corporate team, working on multiple projects and high-profile bids across the EMEA region. This is a hybrid role based at any of our client’s UK offices, offering variety and responsibility for shaping commercial strategies on major proposals. Ideal for someone experienced in handling complex tenders and tight deadlines, this role provides the opportunity to influence strategic decisions at a senior level.
Location and Working Pattern
Hybrid (3 days on site) at one of the UK offices: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester, Stockton, or London.

Responsibilities- Develop and implement commercial strategies during all bid phases.
- Facilitate internal and client-facing commercial workshops to define pricing models and contracting principles.
- Lead validation of contractual frameworks, focusing on risk and liability management.
- Prepare and present commercial models and strategies for executive approvals.
- Review tender requirements and ensure alignment with commercial strategy.
- Coordinate inputs from Legal, Finance, Tax, HSE and other functions for accurate cost modelling.
- Conduct pricing, cost, contingency, cash flow and profit analysis.
- Prepare and finalise commercial proposals and support client negotiations.
- Contribute to JV/partnering agreements and manage bank guarantees/financial requirements.
- Participate in lessons learned, project handovers and internal process improvements.
Must-have Requirements- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in commercial management, proposal management or contract management.
- Experience managing bids and proposals for large-scale projects.
- Ability to analyse complex commercial terms, risks and pricing structures.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
Nice-to-have Skills- Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Construction or Chemical sectors.
- Knowledge of different commercial models (e.g. Lump Sum, Target Price, Cost Plus).
