Job Title
Site Manager – 132KV Substation Project

Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a major 132KV substation project in Hunterston. This role is ideal for someone with SPEN authorisation and a strong background in managing high-voltage electrical works. If you want to take ownership of a key project and ensure its safe and timely delivery, this could be an excellent opportunity.

Location and Working Pattern
  • Location: Hunterston Substation
  • On-site Start: 17th August
  • Pre-site Start: Last week in July – initial onboarding and laptop collection in Stafford
  • Rotation: 11/3 or 12/2 (candidate preference)
  • Shifts: 10-hour days
Client Overview
Our client is a leading specialist in power infrastructure projects, working across the UK to deliver high-voltage grid and substation solutions that keep energy networks running efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage site activities for a 132KV substation project.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards at all times.
  • Coordinate subcontractor works and manage day-to-day site operations.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager and engineering teams.
  • Oversee work schedules and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Report progress and resolve on-site issues promptly.
Must-have Requirements
  • Valid SPEN authorisation for site management activities.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • Demonstrable experience managing substation or HV electrical projects.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively within a rotation schedule.
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Previous experience working with installation subcontractors in electrical networks.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems beyond 132KV.
