Site Purchasing Assistant – Nuclear New Build Project
Summary
Join a major nuclear new build project in the UK as a Site Purchasing Assistant. This position is ideal for candidates with procurement experience who want to be part of a high-profile, safety-critical environment. You’ll play an important role in supporting site operations by ensuring timely and compliant procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
Location and Working Pattern
UK (site-based) – Full on-site engagement at a nuclear construction project.
Client Overview
Operating within the nuclear new build sector, this position is aligned with one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, supporting a robust and highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Raise and process purchase orders following project procedures and approval workflows.
Support procurement leads with sourcing materials, plant, and services for site operations.
Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, track orders, and confirm delivery schedules.
Monitor and maintain order progress, resolving issues related to delivery, quality, and invoicing.
Maintain accurate procurement records ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
Assist with goods receipt and ensure materials are correctly logged in site systems.
Support invoice verification and reconciliation against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Coordinate with construction, engineering, and stores teams to meet materials requirements.
Desireable Experience/Skills
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or administration in construction, engineering, or industrial settings.
Knowledge of procurement systems (SAP or similar) and purchase order processes.
Experience supporting invoice reconciliation and supplier coordination.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Familiarity with large-scale or highly regulated project environments, ideally nuclear.
Understanding of commercial controls and procurement governance frameworks.
