Launch Your Career in the Energy Industry

Are you technically minded, eager to learn, and looking for a long-term career with real progression?

We're looking for motivated individuals to join our Operations Team through a structured 2-3 year Development Programme. This is a unique opportunity to build a career within the power generation industry, gaining hands-on experience at two major power stations while working towards becoming a fully qualified Operations Technician.

Previous power station experience isn't essential. We're more interested in finding people with the right attitude, a strong work ethic, curiosity for how things work, and a genuine interest in engineering, energy, and industrial operations.
If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new skills, working as part of a team, and taking responsibility, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.

Location

  • Kilroot Power Station & Ballylumford Power Station, Northern Ireland
  • Full-time, site-based role

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the Development Programme, you'll learn how to safely operate and monitor power generation plant and equipment while working alongside experienced operators and engineers.

You'll gain exposure to:

  • Power station operations and industrial plant systems
  • Plant start-up, shutdown and monitoring activities
  • Fault identification and problem solving
  • Health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Working with engineering and maintenance teams
  • Plant inspections and performance monitoring
  • Incident response and operational procedures
  • Industry-leading operational and technical training

What We're Looking For

We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of industry experience. Instead, we're seeking individuals who demonstrate:

  • A genuine interest in engineering, energy, power generation, manufacturing or industrial operations
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive approach and desire to build a long-term career
  • The ability to follow procedures and work safely

Backgrounds That Could Be a Good Fit
We'd love to hear from candidates who have:

  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship
  • A-levels, BTEC or equivalent technical qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, production, utilities, maintenance or industrial environments
  • Military or ex-forces technical experience
  • A passion for engineering and a desire to develop a specialist career

Most importantly, we're looking for people with the right mindset and potential to grow.

What You'll Receive

  • Permanent employment from day one
  • Structured 2-3 year development programme
  • Ongoing mentoring and support from experienced professionals
  • Exposure to major power generation assets
  • Clear career progression opportunities
  • The chance to develop into a fully qualified Operations Technician
