About the Opportunity Join a major UK low-carbon infrastructure programme, supporting the delivery of one of the country’s most significant transformation portfolios. This role sits at the heart of the Transformation function and is responsible for leading PMO standards, governance, assurance, and reporting to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of business-critical initiatives.
As Transformation PMO Lead, you will set, implement, and embed portfolio-wide PMO processes, tools, and delivery standards. You will provide clear visibility across planning, milestones, risks, interdependencies, and performance, enabling effective decision-making at senior leadership and Steering Committee level.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Portfolio Manager with RAID management, reporting, and maintenance of the integrated Transformation Portfolio plan.
- Review and validate project and programme plans, ensuring transparent and consistent tracking of progress.
- Confirm and assure stage gates and milestones across strategic transformation projects.
- Produce portfolio-level reporting for the Transformation Steering Committee, escalating key risks, issues, and dependencies as required.
- Identify, manage, and monitor interdependencies across the Transformation Portfolio.
- Maintain the monthly transformation dashboard, providing clear insight into performance and delivery status.
- Support portfolio communications and stakeholder engagement to enable alignment across delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
What You’ll Need- Strong understanding of project and programme management methodologies, including Agile and PRINCE2.
- Experience with planning and portfolio management tools, such as MSP or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to manage interdependencies, supported by robust RAID and change control processes.
- Degree-educated or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrable experience within a Portfolio Management Office, including setting delivery standards, governance frameworks, and supporting programme and project delivery.
Desirable- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, particularly in complex, large-scale environments.
- Professional PMO or project management certifications (e.g. PMP, APM, P3O).
