The Pride of Cumbria Awards is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of individuals and businesses across Cumbria. This year, the event is being held on Thursday 15th June at Energus Workington, and NRL is proud to be a continued sponsor of the event.

As a local business, we've operated in Cumbria for over 40 years, and we're proud to have had a front row seat to see the region grow and develop. We are passionate about supporting the local community, and the awards provide a great opportunity for our Egremont Recruitment team to take time out to celebrate the fantastic things happening across the region.

We're delighted to join GSK as principal sponsors of the awards, alongside the other local businesses supporting the event - Sellafield Ltd, Westinghouse, Telford Citroen, Pirelli, University of Cumbria and the Cumbria Police and Crime Commissioner.

Celebrating the best of Cumbria

Discussing sponsorship of the awards, NRL's Director Rebecca Graves said,

"NRL’s Egremont recruitment branch is proud to support the Pride of Cumbria Awards each year. The community spirit across our region is unparalleled, so it's always fantastic to hear about all the award nominees and how their projects and initiatives are giving back to others.

We are lucky enough to be able to meet a lot of the local community when we're working with our clients and candidates to provide opportunities for residents to progress their career, while helping businesses grow.

It’s events like these that demonstrate why Cumbria is such a great place to live, work and do business. We're very much looking forward to this year's awards evening and excited to celebrate with the worthy nominees and winners on the night.”

A region centred around community

Cumbria is made up of many small towns and villages, each with its own unique character and history. These communities are united by a shared sense of pride in their county and a willingness to support one another.

The sense of community in Cumbria is also reflected in the many local initiatives and projects that are aimed at improving the lives of people in the area. All Together Cumbria, for example, is a social enterprise that looks to reinvest back into the local employment - such as educational outreach and skills development. NRL's Egremont team are proud to support All Together Cumbria, which is helping to upskill the region.
