Automation Engineer

Location: Port of Tyne

By joining the team in Dogger Bank you will have the opportunity to:  

  • Be responsible for the technical integrity of automation, telecoms, network, cybersecurity, and operational technology (OT) equipment on Dogger Bank’s operational assets.

  • Own performance standards related to automation and telecom safety critical equipment.

  • Ensure implementation of all Automation and Telecoms related maintenance programs with a focus on safety and security critical maintenance.

  • Review technical queries and requests relating to automation and telecoms and evaluate modification proposals.

  • Participate in Asset Integrity meetings using company tools to manage and visualise technical integrity of the windfarm.

  • Provide operational support to ops engineers in all technical matters.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement culture by participating in industry networks and sharing knowledge.


Who are we looking for?

  • Extensive practical technical understanding of automation, telecoms and operational technology 

  • Knowledge and expertise in the following areas:

  • Control systems design and implementation.

  • SCADA system operation and specification.

  • Design & Commissioning knowledge would be an advantage specification.

  • Cybersecurity risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Telecommunications systems including analogue and digital radio, LTE, CCTV and multiplexing.

  • Possession of a master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Extensive experience working in a similar role may compensate for formal qualifications.

  • Proficiency in oral and written communications and an ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders and support functions.

  • A team player that strives for continuous improvement, possess a willingness and ability to share knowledge and experience. Can showcase past examples of providing support and contributing to a diverse and dynamic team
