NRL’s client based in Sunderland are looking to recruit a Document Controller for an ongoing contract basis, preferably starting immediatley. 

About the role:

  • Position to be site based, Sunderland 

  • Working hours: Monday - Friday (08:00 - 17:00)

  • Immediate start preferred 

  • Temporary basis


Duties:

  1. Day to Day activities: The management of all information flow for the project in accordance with the design deliverables release schedules, programmes and management systems.

  2. Set up and Maintain data storage systems / templates / Maintain up to date record of all information and ensure that it is available to the team.

  3. Comply with all aspects of the design management procedures.

  4. Issue and distribute controlled copies of information in accordance with the design management procedures.

  5. Check information on drawings for conformance with status and format agreed.

  6. Liaise with designers and specialist suppliers on queries regarding issues of information.

  7. Provide training to participants, (when fully trained) to other designers, and specialist suppliers on the project on how to use the drawing management system.

  8. Troubleshooting any problems to do with the drawing management system and peripherals.

  9. Provide advice and feedback on procedures of issue and methods in accessing / using the systems.

  10. Use document management and other management/collaboration tools as necessary to meet project requirements.

  11. Liaising closely with Client design team on all aspects of the system administration.   

  12. If nominated fulfil role as collaboration tool administrator.   

  13. Creating Guides and setting up Project Protocols.

  14. Dispatching invitations for external users requested by the site teams.

  15. Setting up Design and Compliance review workflows to allow for Drawing and Document commenting and voting. (when fully trained)

  16. Supporting individual users with day-to-day administration of this system setting up, new folders, Daily transmittals.

  17. Ensuring that the system is in line with Company rules and compliance.

  18. Supporting the design management team in design workshops / recording of information,

  19. Chasing outstanding information from internal / external / client teams, ensuring close out of information within required time scales.

  20. Exporting information / producing presentations for internal / external reporting and governance.

  21. Exeperience in use with viewpoint for Projects.
