NRL are currently recruiting for an EHS Advisor to work with one of our leading clients at a site in Rugby. 


Job Summary:

  • The EHS Advisor reports to the EHS Leader and is responsible to support the site activities in the management of our client's EHS programs for the facility.

  • Interact with all departments, including factory manufacturing and assembly, office-based personnel, facilities management, and support the EHS leader on all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety

  • Will communicate and contribute to the development of site-based programs, conduct onsite EHS audits and inspections, and provide recommendations for improving EHS performance and creating a NO HARM culture.

  • Will ensure all personnel and employees are informed of safe working procedures and practices so that they can fulfil their responsibilities and manage required compliance activities, including the implementation of in-country legislation and our client's EHS requirements and standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working with the EHS Lead Develop, understand, and maintain the client's OneEHS project plan using the EHS management tools.

  • Establish relationships and drive daily engagement with employees providing necessary guidance, support, and coaching. Completing Gemba walk rigor to discuss, highlight safety concerns and risk across departments.

  • Assist in safety administration, risk assessment and management, EHS training, effective KPI reports and any EHS related tasks that may impact personnel or overall site safety.

  • Attend and facilitate safety meetings, to ensure employees aware and fully understand the hazards associated with the scope of work and maintain required records.

  • Supporting completion of or facilitating, co-ordinating EHS audit, Gensuite and Compliance calendar activities.

  • Coaching teams in support of Near Miss, Hazard hunt, Toolbox talk and Investigation activities. Effectively determining risks, RCA, and causal factors for effective systemic and sustainable implementation of preventative measures, through effective engagement as follow up discussions, actions, or activities to remove risk. Ensuring correct supporting documentation completed and effective internal and escalated reporting where required.

  • Working with site supervision ensure training matrix is upheld and current.

  • Participate in management of change, planning meetings and daily prestart readiness.

  • Ensure easily accessible EHS information is available and fully aligned to EHS priorities and current.

  • Support Contractor Management to processing permits to work considering aspects not limited to LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, Lift Plans aligned to the client's Life Saving principles

  • Facilitate and co-ordinate EHS based training schedules available to support employees, including delivering classroom-based course content where required.

  • Support EHS Leader to ensure required compliance activities aligned to in-country legislation and the client's EHS programmes, such as DSEAR, Air Monitoring, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH regulations.

  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive the client's vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Technical/University degree or qualifying experience in industrial Safety/Safety related field or experience in Safety or an industry related field.

  • Working towards or holds NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of in-country EHS regulatory requirements, desirable.

  • Preferred experience and knowledge of the risks involved in either/or mechanical machining, mechanical assembly/fitting and HV electrical works

  • Proficient in English.

  • Advanced computer skills, primarily with MS Office software programs i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and able to navigate internet and intranet tools.
