Our Client has a STAFF opportunity for a Maintenance Planner / Supervisor.

This role is full time based at Finnart near Helensburgh.

Candidates MUST be UK National and resident.


Purpose of Role:

The role of the Maintenance Planner/Supervisor is to plan, initiate, execute, control and close out all planned and emergent engineering works for the asset. Maintain accurate data within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system and report accurate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) demonstrating compliance with statutory requirements and company objectives. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all site safety expectations, company procedures and applicable international standards. In addition, direct, coach, line manage and provide technical support to technicians within their team to ensure engineering excellence in performance.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Safety Compliance

  • Lead by example and promote positive safety culture.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities complies with applicable laws, Regulations, Company policies and procedures, permits and risk assessments.

  • Conversant with applicable engineering and safety standards e.g. Control of Work

  • Maintenance Technician Line Management

  • Provide first line management of maintenance team including performance management and appraisals.

  • Ensuring competence levels maintained and developed through coaching, on-site experience and formal training.

  • Safe and Effective Execution of Engineering Works

  • Prioritise work requests received via CMMS and from key department stakeholders e.g. operations, asset care engineering, HSE, Inspection and 3rd party contractors.

  • Effectively use CMMS for work requests, stores requisitions, equipment history, spares holding and failure reporting

  • Carry out preparedness assessment of all future work scopes as required taking appropriate action to close out issues as identified.

  • Ensure full utilization of technicians and contractor resource. 

  • Technically appraise, challenge, progress and reject, where appropriate, service requests and work

  • Produce comprehensive and detailed work packs for all applicable works and communicate to all involved.

  • Own and drive compliance for all Time-Based Maintenance scopes whether executed by the asset techs or otherwise.

  • Ensure suitable level of QA is completed and recorded before recommissioning of equipment, including punching.

  • Carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment all Maintenance activities. 

  • Maintain accurate engineering records on CMMS. 

  • Create and/or update Maintenance documentation. 

  • Liaise with external suppliers, OEMs and third parties to identify spare parts, drawings, specialist tooling to improve maintenance activity execution.

  • Ensure all third-party permit builders work to the correct standard.

  • Assess, challenge and verify all contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements

  • Obtain third party (term and otherwise) estimates and ensure `value for money¿ and estimates costed as per the framework agreement.

  • MTL support and Personal Requirements


Key Skills/Experience:

Required

  • Formal Apprenticeship (Mechanical/IE/Analyser as relevant to the Craft Team)

  • SVQ Level 3 in relevant subject (Mechanical Engineering/IE Engineering or equivalent)

  • HNC in appropriate Engineering subject (Mechanical Engineering/IE Engineering or equivalent)

  • Time served in a Maintenance background.

  • Excellent communication skills and organisational skills

  • Proven self-starter with a bias for action

  • Ability to work under pressure and lead team.

  • Strong decision-making skills.

  • Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings.

  • IT literate and proficient in computer systems.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working on a top tier COMAH site

  • A detailed understanding of the maintenance workflow process and CMMS

  • Knowledge of National and International standards in their maintenance discipline

  • Understanding of the budgeting process and cost control

  • Current driving license
