I am recruiting for a NEC4 Project Manager with experience of Detailed Design and Construction stages to administer the Norfolk CC contract. 6 months contract. Hourly rate based on experience.

Initially a 2-week period in Norwich (this can be in two one-week sessions) and after that it requires one day per month travelling to Norfolk CC office in Norwich.

Specialist project manager role working on large infrastructure projects. Chartered Engineer or similar level of combined qualifications and proven work experience.

Knowledge of Contracts and Contract Management, particularly NEC4 Contract. Experience of using CEMAR to manage contracts.

  • Administration of all contract elements related to the delivery of a large infrastructure project in accordance with the project programme and ensuring the smooth running of a project working closely with the Design Manger. Ensuring all correspondence and work packages are saved, recorded, and received on time. Identifying project risks at the earliest opportunity and proposing mitigation measures or elevating matters quickly.

  • Overseeing the delivery of highways and construction documents being produced by the appointed Design and Build contractor working closely with the Design Manager. Work packages typically include drawings, specifications, and reports. Checking and ensuring all deliverables are completed to a high standard.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Administer the contract with the Contractor for the design stage of the project,

  • Early warnings (considering, seeking solutions, deciding on actions, managing records),

  • Reviewing and acceptance of Contractor’s programme,

  • Communication protocol between NCC and Contractor,

  • Change control related to commercial instructions,

  • Input to and review of planning application documents including the Environmental Statement,
