Working with a leading Engineering consultancy, NRL are looking for Senior & Principal electrical Building Services Engineers on a permanent basis, based out of their Manchester office.


The Role:
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary design consultancy, the Building Services team are involved in a variety of planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishment and new build projects including several multi-million-pound development schemes and framework agreements within the construction industry.

The core projects at present mainly involves working with a long term local framework partner consisting of a variety of projects including multi-residential high, medium, and low rise infrastructure replacement projects, district heating upgrades and feasibilities and District heating energy centre replacement designs. Outside of this core requirement projects include education based projects including new build schools and student accommodation both design and technical adviser roles, supporting Aviation, MoD, MoJ, Highways, Water, Gas and Rail teams throughout the UK and abroad on various schemes.

The post involves leading the designs of Electrical Building Services projects, reporting to the Regional MEP Lead, mentoring the younger engineers, and liaising with the clients.

You'll need:

  • Qualification to Degree Standard in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience and knowledge
  • Aspirations of achieving MCIBSE or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of UK regulations is essential
  • Experience of working within Building Services engineering design consultancy practice.
  • Sustainable Technologies integration
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad & Revit MEP
  • Experience with electrical design software such as Hevacomp, Dialux, Amtek etc
  • Awareness in quality assurance and business management
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with colleagues and with a professional approach to external clients
  • An enquiring approach with a desire to explore innovative ideas whilst still understanding the need for good commercial balance
  • Must be of smart appearance with a professional attitude and enthusiastic
  • Being able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good report writing skills, with good overall MS Office experience
  • Available to travel short term in UK and overseas
