Our client, a leading European energy group, are now looking for a Senior C&I Engineer to support with their site based at Ashington.


About the role:

  • You will lead and advise the long-term engineering/maintenance activities of various sites for all Control and Instrumentation (C&I) systems.

  •  You will be responsible for the management of the long-term integrity and strategies of all DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, Safety Instrumented Systems and ensure high levels of safety, reliability, and legal compliance.

  • You will provide specialist support, guidance and technical advice to the Engineering and Maintenance teams on all associated C&I systems; overseeing long-term planning and life management, including obsolescence, of all site infrastructure and systems.

What you will need:

Ideally you will have skills and experience covering the below:

  • HNC/HND qualified in Electrical / C&I Engineering (essential)

  • Ex14 ATEX Responsible Person

  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualified.

  • Degree qualified in Electrical / C&I Engineering (desirable)

  • Previous professional experience working within the Power Generation sector, or relevant industry background at a similar level within the Control and Instrumentation area.

  • Extensive knowledge and programming experience of DCS, PLC & SCADA systems (i.e., Emerson, Rockwell, InTouch or similar)

  • Detailed knowledge of functional safety standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511, including full life cycle management i.e., HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA & SIL Determination

  • Detailed knowledge of industrial networking systems/techniques and associated current cyber-security legislation.
