Our Client is looking for a Technical Manager - Offshore Wind
Staff Position - Edinburgh

About the role:

  • The Technical Manager will be responsible for leading the review of floating wind technology concepts, supporting the centres delivery of the UK, European and Global floating project pipeline, whilst also assisting with assessment of opportunities with floating wind and future markets
What you will need:
  • Lead the review and qualification of offshore floating wind technology:
  • Lead engagement and coordinate communication with supply chain
  • Production of documentation summarising technology assessments
  • Management of internal database summarising global floating wind projects and floating technology
  • Facilitate necessary internal communication, workshops etc.
  • Management of internal and external engineering studies that support COPs Floating Platform development
  • Provide technical support to delivery of the UK, European and Global floating project pipeline
  • Provide support to other packages within the Floating Platform such as linkage to other technology
  • The ideal candidate preferably has experience of leading technical reviews relating to offshore wind, in addition, we expect that you have the following qualifications and experiences:
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging floating offshore wind technology concepts including floating structures, mooring & anchoring solutions, dynamic cables and Floating Offshore Substations.
  • Broad understanding of general floating offshore wind development and construction, e.g. markets, supply chain, permitting and business case drivers
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Cultural awareness and ability to thrive in multinational teams
  • Team oriented mind-set and strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to work out of Edinburgh office
