Welding Quality Control Inspector – Bridgwater

Our client, a leader in the Nuclear and Defence industries, are now looking for a Welding Quality Control Inspector to support with their site based in Bridgwater.

About the role:

This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of a prestigious nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s 2,500 rooms. As a Welding Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring standards are met with regard to welding on-site. Day to day, you’ll read inspection test plans, inspect work, and produce reports.

Duties will include but are not limited to: 

  • You will perform witnessing as required by the Inspection and Test Plans to meet programme demand, working to project deadlines and targets.  

  • Record results for inspections undertaken, highlighting any non-conformance, and accepting or rejecting finished items as required. 

  • Liaise with the Area Quality Leads to ensure appropriate levels of surveillance are deployed and support the relevant surveillance plans. 

  • Work alongside the fabrication / installation team to ensure all contracted requirements have been met. 

  • Review quality records for accuracy and adequacy of content to allow the compilation of lifetime records to support End of Erection Status Reports


What you will need:

Ideally you will have skills and experience covering the below:

  • Experience as QC Inspector 

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry.

  • Qualifications in an Engineering discipline, ONC / HNC / HND (or equivalent experience).

  • PCN or CSWIP
