Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a major data centre project in Milan. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong technical background and proven project management expertise who want to deliver large-scale critical infrastructure projects. You’ll play a key part in ensuring successful commissioning and compliance while working with some of the most advanced technology environments.


Location and Working Pattern

• Location: Milan, Italy (onsite at the data centre)
• Rotation: 3/1-week rotation may be required, with project relocation support available
• Travel: Domestic and international travel as required
• Applicants must have full working rights in Italy

Client Overview
Our client is a global leader in mission-critical facilities, specialising in delivering complete lifecycle solutions for data centre environments. They work with major technology and financial organisations to provide resilient, sustainable infrastructure worldwide.


Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for the commissioning process
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including construction, commissioning, and facilities management
• Oversee procurement and commissioning of equipment and infrastructure systems
• Manage testing, validation, and risk mitigation for all data centre systems
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors for clear communication and alignment
• Provide technical oversight on design, infrastructure, and operations
• Track project costs, report progress, and ensure standards compliance
• Prepare and maintain full commissioning documentation and handover materials

Must-have Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing large or complex data centre or critical infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of data centre design, commissioning practices, and compliance standards
• Excellent project planning and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with data centre standards and regulations
• Ability to work onsite in Milan and travel as needed

Nice-to-have Skills

• PMP or equivalent project management certification
• Hands-on experience with hyperscale data centres
• Previous involvement in large-scale commissioning projects
