Client Overview Our client is a leading engineering services provider delivering cutting‑edge solutions across major infrastructure, data centre, and technology‑driven construction projects.
Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems including LV/HV distribution, UPS systems, standby generators, containment, and lighting.
- Quantify materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor costs accurately.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for compliance with technical and commercial requirements, such as fire and security systems, lightning and earthing protection.
- Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns and tender submissions, factoring in lifecycle cost considerations.
- Attend site visits and pre‑bid meetings to assess project scope, risks and constraints.
- Collaborate with design, commercial, and delivery teams to develop bid strategies aligned with client expectations.
- Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate technical pricing and identify value‑engineering opportunities.
- Support post‑tender negotiations and project handovers with clear documentation and rationale.
Must‑have Requirements- Proven experience in electrical estimating within the building services or construction sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems for data centres or industrial environments.
- Ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications and performance criteria.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
Nice‑to‑have Skills- Experience with BIM processes or digital estimating tools.
- Chartered or time‑served electrical engineering qualification.
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy‑efficiency considerations in electrical systems design.
