Environmental Specialist

Summary

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Specialist to join on a part-time basis, supporting environmental compliance and reporting at Seascale, Cumbria. This role is ideal for a qualified professional seeking flexible hours while applying their expertise in environmental legislation, sustainability and waste management practices. You’ll play a key role in ensuring standards are upheld and performance continually improves.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit monthly environmental performance reports
  • Produce and maintain waste management reports, including compliance records
  • Monitor environmental performance and identify continual improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation
  • Provide environmental advice and support to operational teams as required
  • Assist with environmental audits and inspections
  • Identify and report environmental risks, recommending corrective actions
  • Support the implementation of environmental management initiatives and best practices
Must-have Requirements

  • Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and waste management practices
  • Proven experience preparing environmental and waste reports
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
