General Operative

NRL are working in partnership with a key contractor and are currently recruiting General Operatives with a civils background to support an upcoming Pipeline infrastructure project based in the Chester area.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a Pipeline infrastructure project, with ongoing work available for dependable and safety‑focused individuals.

The Role:

• Supporting site teams on a large-scale civils and pipeline project
• Assisting groundworkers, plant operators, and site management
• Carrying out general civils duties including excavation support, backfilling, and reinstatement works
• Safely handling tools, materials, and equipment
• Ensuring work areas are kept clean, safe, and well organised
• Working in accordance with site health, safety, and environmental standards

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience within civils, groundworks, or utilities
• Valid CSCS card
• Ability to carry out manual work in a site environment
• Strong team-working attitude and ability to follow site instructions
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Desirable (But Not Essential):

• Experience on pipeline or utilities projects
• SHEA Gas
• Traffic Marshall
• Abrasive Wheels
• Confined Space (Low / Medium Risk)
• Small Tools (breakers, cut-off saws, compactors, pumps)
• CAT & Genny
• First Aid
