General Operative

Location: Teesside
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time - 6 month contract
Pay Type: PAYE or Umbrella

Job Overview We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our team on a busy construction site in Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with previous construction or labouring experience who are looking for ongoing work with a reputable contractor.

The successful candidate will support site operations, ensuring work areas are maintained to a high standard of safety and cleanliness while assisting trades and site management as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting skilled tradespeople with day-to-day site activities
• Loading, unloading, and moving materials around site
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Carrying out general labouring and site maintenance duties
• Supporting deliveries and stock management
• Following site health and safety procedures at all times
• Operating basic hand and power tools where required
• Assisting with site setup and welfare area maintenance
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed by site management

Requirements

• Previous experience working on a construction site is preferred
• Valid CSCS Card (essential)
• Good understanding of site health and safety regulations
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties
• Own transport is advantageous but not essential
